Roll, then fill
Open both zipper pulls. Fold the comforter to about the bag’s 15-inch width and roll from one end.
Comforter storage bag
A comforter storage bag should close with a zipper, show a label on the outside, and stay out of the way until the season changes. This one is 24 gallons (91 L), 27 × 15 × 14 inches, with double zippers and wrap-around handles. The rated load is 50 lb. It is waterproof, not submersible. It is sold only as a 2-pack or a 6-pack.

After the bed is stripped
Roll the comforter from the foot, kneeling on the roll so the air leaves. Set it in the open bag. Pillow shams can sit on top if the zipper still meets. Do not force it.

Open both zipper pulls. Fold the comforter to about the bag’s 15-inch width and roll from one end.

If the zipper fights a lump, take something out. A strained zipper is how a bag fails.

A closet shelf or a garage rack is fine. The shell is waterproof, not a cover for a wet floor.
The pocket faces out. Write “winter blankets” or the bedroom name so a stack does not have to be opened to be identified.
Packed height is 14 inches. Measure the clearance before you slide a bag under a frame. Folded empty, the bag is about 10 × 7.1 inches.
When the comforter has to leave the house, the zipper and the handles are already there. Books and lamps still go in a box.
Fit depends on thickness. If the zipper will not close, use another bag or leave the comforter out.
What can share the bag
A comforter storage bag is for volume. Keep the load at or under 50 lb and keep dense items in a box.
Pack size
A 2-pack covers one bed. A 6-pack covers a house of bedding and still folds flat later.

Comforter storage
Each bag is 24 gallons (91 L) and 27 × 15 × 14 inches. Zip it shut without forcing the zipper. A very thick comforter may need a bag to itself.
Blankets are the same job as a comforter, just lighter. Fold them to the width of the bag, stack two or three if the zipper still closes, and write the room on the card. A closet shelf that clears 14 inches can hold a packed bag on its side or upright. If the shelf is shorter, store the bag empty and folded, or stand it in the garage instead of forcing it onto a short shelf.
The laminated shell sheds rain and dust. It is not a cover for a flooded corner. Keep the bag off a wet garage floor. Shake sand and dirt off camp blankets before they go in, and let damp linens dry. A closed bag holds moisture against the fabric. This bag is not moth protection. Let bedding dry, and keep it off a wet floor.
Unzip, air the bedding, and fold the empty bag to about 10 × 7.1 inches. The same bags move the house later: clothes and bedding in the bag, books and dishes in cardboard. Cobalt Blue and Barbie Pink make a stack easier to tell apart when several bedrooms are stored in one closet. There is no third pack size. A thick comforter may need a bag to itself.
