How to store seasonal clothes and bedding

One season per bag, a tag card you can read in October, and an honest note on closets, garages, and under-bed clearance.

Seasonal storage fails when three seasons share one unlabeled tote. A CasaBella bag gives you a zipper, an outside tag pocket, and a known size: 24 gallons packed, about 10 × 7.1 inches folded empty.

Closet

One person, one season. Winter coats or summer linens, not both. Write the name and the season on the tag card before you zip. Shoes go in a pouch so they don't snag knits. The bag can sit on a shelf if the shelf clears the packed height of 15 inches. Don't stack a second bag on top unless you have measured.

Bedding

Roll comforters instead of stuffing them. Fold to about the 14-inch width of the bag, kneel on the roll, then add pillow shams if there is room. The spare guest duvet is a bag of its own. Label it 'guest bed' so you are not opening the coat bag in November.

Under the bed

A packed bag needs about 15 inches of clearance. Measure from the floor to the slats before you slide one underneath. If it doesn't clear, fold the bag empty and store the bedding on a shelf instead.

Garage

Camp blankets, team bags, and holiday textiles can live on a garage shelf. Prefer a shelf over the concrete. This is not a cedar chest and not a climate vault.

Six labeled bags are the plan for a closet plus a garage shelf.
